About the event
Join us and our amazing guest speaker, Rev. Dr. Weldo M. McWilliams IV for an open dialogue
aimed at discussing "Does Voting Matter?"
Our goal is to help bring understanding, unity, and equality in our communities. It is crucial, more
than ever, that whether you’re 16 or forever young, YOU are shaping our future. How? It is not just
about going out to vote, but more importantly to be able to navigate the complex waters that are
elections. There will be a discussion on the history of voting rights and system disparate impacts to
people of color and immigrants in our country with small group discussions to follow.
Round up your crew - friends, aunts, uncles, grandchildren, mom(s), dad(s), sisters, cousins and the
whole neighborhood to address the challenges of voting in our society today. Snacks will be
provided! We aim to offer a place for all individuals, all ages, different faiths, racial backgrounds,
and walks of life to engage in open conversation, share experiences, and brainstorm solutions.
Hosted by: Racial Reconciliation Collaborative
Facilitated by: Anne Arundel County Conflict Resolution Center
